When A Nation Weeps

Anise Horvath

Tonight our hearts are heavy. We grieve the violence, the division, and the fear that has gripped our land. We lift up our nation before You, asking for Your mercy, Your healing, and Your peace.

Lord, comfort those who mourn. Draw near to families shattered by tragedy. Heal the wounded in body and in spirit. Surround leaders, communities, and every heart with the reminder that true hope is found only in You.

We pray against the spirit of hatred and destruction that seeks to divide us. Let Your Spirit move across this nation, softening hearts, turning anger into repentance, and fear into faith. Teach us again what it means to love our neighbor, to carry one another’s burdens, and to walk humbly with You.

Tonight, we place America in Your hands. We ask You to steady us, guide us, and renew us with Your truth. Let Your peace rule in our hearts and Your light shine in the darkness.

“Frazzeled Angel”

In the header, a very patient (and slightly frazzled) angel stares down at earth, watching humans twist God’s Word into balloon animals no one asked for. Christianese is here to laugh, untangle, and point back to God’s truth — one “hedge of protection” at a time.
